A picture of my horse Goose, shot on July 2, 2006. He was a rescue horse at the time, donated to the ranch by a lady with MS who could no longer ride him. Living up to his name, this is a horse with a really nutty personality! In this picture he really struck a pose for the camera.
Another picture of Goose, the nutty half-Arabian horse. Shot the same day as the first picture.
In this picture of Goose, shot in early 2008, we catch the horse in a different mood! I don't know if its intentional or not but he always seems to have the camera in mind.
This is Henry. He is a registered American Paint horse, gelding about 8 years old. I am not exactly sure why he ended up at the ranch, but it had something to do with him not being good enough to show. Despite this defect he is a really good looking horse, so everyone wanted to adopt him. Somehow I got lucky and was able to make him my horse, but he has been somewhat of a struggle because he has a stubborn personality.
Meet Amy, a gorgeous 12 year old sorrel grade mare. She is currently being trained using natural horsemanship by Eric Bravo. She is available for adoption from Walkin N Circles rescue ranch in New Mexico. Visit www.wncr.org for more information.
Here is my quarter horse Wishes. I got Wishes from a horse trainer named Diane Nicholson, who was one of the best with horses I've ever seen. At the time I was just getting into riding and Wishes was the first horse I ever rode on the trail. Diane got ovarian cancer and just when she finished her chemo came down with leukemia. She was looking for someone to care for Wishes so I volunteered. Diane died of leukemia in November of 2006, so I ended up keeping Wishes. He has been a great horse for me and I try to ride him every chance I get. Here, he is pictured with Hannah, a spunky 3 year old who loves riding him too!
This is Kelpie, a huge draft horse. The breed for those who don't know is called Percheron. These horses are stout. They have big, muscular necks and huge feet. Kelpie is very tall as well. Despite her size, she is a sweet gentle giant.
This is Zeke, a donkey who used to live at Walkin N Circles rescue ranch in Edgewood, NM. I got one of my first horses Goose at the ranch, and when Goose first got there Zeke was his only friend. Goose is a big half-Arab that lived in a different pasture with a bunch of other tough male horses. But Goose would sneak through the electric fences just to hang out with Zeke. Despite his very nice personality, Zeke had a rough life that ended way too soon. He was owned by an abusive family that kept him penned up and never trimmed his hooves. Despite a lot of effort the time came when Zeke had to be put down. Zeke never really liked Goose, and would kick at him despite his disabilities! Goose wasn't deterred though, and would sit there and watch Zeke eat.
This is Lizzie, a mare who had been hit by a car that ended up at the rescue ranch. She was later returned to her owner. A sweet horse, I am not sure what happened to her. Her rear foot was permanently disfigured by the accident as you can see here.
This is Toushie, Eric Bravo's paint horse.

Eric Bravo's son riding his paint horse. That is our horse Sirius on the right, a really nice horse who died in an accident in June 2008.
